The one event you should not miss...
This is the only community event I went to, I knew from the start I was going to attend this one and I am very glad I did. The event is great but can also be very bittersweet because it is a reminder that the end is near. You've been in Disney for months now and everything feels comfortable...normal...but in a few short weeks it will all be over.
Aside from the depressing part, depending on how you choose to enjoy the DCP graduation it can can be enjoyed for hours on end or just moments, as I did. It is held at Chatham, where nearly all the housing events are held, there is a DJ, free food, prizes to win and they bring out the staple characters in graduation outfits to take photos with. Since the event was held at Chatham, my roommate and I chose to head over only about 15 minutes prior to when the event was supposed to start and already the line was long, but as we stood in line it kept growing and growing and growing. Ultimately we were going to pick up our grad ears, our "diploma", snap a photo with Minnie and Mickey and then head out to Studios. Fortunately, after they began letting everyone into the event, we only had to wait about 30-45 minutes to see Minnie and Mickey which may seem absurd, but people who arrived later than the event start time waited HOURS. So get there early and enjoy the benefits because you can spend your remaining time either enjoying the event or enjoying the rest of your day. There was no dress code for the event but a lot of people cleaned up more than usual since they were taking photos with the characters and it was graduation so hey, why not look good. Overall don't miss the event, you get some great keepsakes to remember your DCP by and you don't want to be the person who didn't attend graduation.
